Our Story
Afro Jam Dance Camp
What started as small gatherings driven by music, movement, and shared passion grew into something bigger. Dancers came not just to learn steps, but to feel, to connect, and to understand the culture behind the movement. In 2024 AfroJam became a meeting point where African street dance was not treated as a trend, but as a living culture rooted in history, community, and identity.
From the beginning, AfroJam stood for authenticity.
We created spaces where dancers of all levels could grow together, guided by artists who carry the culture and respect its origins. A space where beginners felt safe to start, and advanced dancers felt challenged to go deeper technically, creatively, and personally.
As AfroJam evolved, so did its community.
What began locally expanded across borders, attracting dancers, artists, and creatives from around the world. Different backgrounds, languages, and experiences met on the same dance floor, united by rhythm and respect. AfroJam became more than an event it became a movement.
Today, AfroJam is a platform for growth, exchange, and creative freedom.
Through lectures, workshops, battles, and cultural experiences, we continue to build spaces that honor African street dance in its true form grounded, expressive, and alive. And this is only the beginning.
AfroJam Dance Camp aims to bring together international artists, leaders, choreographers, and dancers to create a space of cultural exchange, inspiration, and shared growth. By connecting global voices with authentic African street dance culture, we build bridges that allow the dance to travel, evolve, and stay rooted at the same time.
Looking ahead, AfroJam is committed to spreading African street dance culture globally while protecting its essence. Our vision is to create sustainable platforms for African and Afro-rooted artists, expand into new cities and continents, and deepen cultural education alongside movement. We aim to inspire the next generation of dancers not just to dance better, but to dance with understanding, intention, and respect.
AfroJam is about where we come from, who we are, and where we’re going.
A journey driven by culture.
A community built on freedom.
And a future shaped by authenticity.
Vision & Values
Our Vision
Our vision is simple but powerful:
AfroJam’s vision is to spread African street dance culture to the world by honoring its roots, amplifying authentic voices, and creating spaces where movement becomes freedom, connection, and global exchange. We believe dancers, artists, and creatives deserve to be free.
Free in their bodies. Free in their expression. Free to explore who they are without fear, judgment, or limitation.
Afrojam Dance Camp was created as a space where people don’t just learn steps they reconnect with rhythm, culture, and themselves. A place where dance becomes a language, and everyone is free to speak it, no matter their background, level, or identity.
Some dancers arrive nervous, taking their very first Afro steps.
Others arrive experienced, searching for depth, growth, and authenticity.
At Afrojam, they meet in the same room, moving together, learning from each other, sharing energy in a space built on respect and openness.
For beginners, the journey begins with foundations.
Feeling the groove. Understanding rhythm. Learning how Afro dance lives in the body, not just in the movement. Classes are guided with care and clarity, creating a safe and supportive environment where confidence grows naturally. No pressure. No expectations. Just space to be yourself and grow at your own pace.
For advanced dancers, Afrojam is both a challenge and a release.
A place to refine technique, deepen musicality, explore freestyle, and push creative boundaries. Here, individuality is celebrated. You’re encouraged to move honestly, to trust your instincts, and to develop your own dance identityAfrojam exists to support the growth, freedom, and depth of dancers, artists, and creatives worldwide.
We envision a global community where people feel safe to be themselves, express honestly, and grow through movement, while staying deeply connected to the roots of African street dance and culture.
