March 25–28, 2027
Our first camp took place in September 2024. We bring the community together twice a year, and every completed edition has sold out. On March 25–28, 2027, we celebrate our sixth edition with four days of movement, learning and connection.

Beginners, intermediate and advanced dancers are welcome. Come on your own or with friends: there is a place for you at Afro Jam.
Are the classes suitable for beginners?
Yes. Our classes are open level, which means they are suitable for dancers of every level, from beginners to advanced dancers. We prioritise basics, foundations and routines in each style, giving newer dancers a strong starting point while helping experienced dancers deepen their understanding. Come ready to learn at your own pace and build your confidence through dance.
Will beginners receive support?
Yes. Our teachers welcome questions and offer guidance within classes. Let your teacher know if you are new or would like a movement explained again. Take your time, learn at your own pace and enjoy the process—you are welcome here at every stage of your dance journey.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many dancers join independently, and you are just as welcome on your own as you are with friends. Classes, cyphers and community activities give you opportunities to meet people and connect through dance. Come with an open mind and enjoy becoming part of the Afro Jam community.
Is there an age limit?
Our dance camp welcomes all ages, from younger dancers to older participants. We want everyone to feel comfortable joining the community and learning at their own pace. If you are planning to attend with a young participant or have questions about access to a particular evening venue, please contact our team before booking.
Do I have to enter a battle or The Showdown?
No. Battles and The Showdown are optional, so you can enjoy the classes, community and atmosphere without competing. If you would like to take part, choose the appropriate participant pass and check the registration information for your category. Beginners and advanced dancers are welcome to enjoy the camp in the way that suits them.
How can I register for The Showdown?
You can register online through our Showdown registration page. Visit the page to find the registration information and read the competition rules before submitting your entry. Register for The Showdown here, and contact our team if you need help with your registration.
Where can I register for the battle?
Battle registration is only available on location during the camp. Visit the Afro Jam Dance Camp counter to register and speak with our team about taking part. Please make sure you sign up during the camp so the team can guide you through the registration process and answer your questions.
Which hotel do you recommend?
We recommend Prom Hotel Ratchada—check availability and book your stay here. It is directly behind The Street Ratchada, making it a convenient base close to our main venue for Friday through Sunday. Book your accommodation directly with the hotel, and remember to plan your journey to DONKI Mall separately for Thursday.
When will the schedule be out?
The schedule will be published online two months before the event. Check our website as the camp approaches so you can plan your classes and organise your days in Bangkok. Until it is released, keep 25–28 March 2027 in your calendar for the sixth edition of Afro Jam Dance Camp.
Can I volunteer at Afro Jam Dance Camp?
Yes. We welcome volunteer applications and are accepting open applications from people who would like to support the camp. Email afrojamdancecamp@hotmail.com to introduce yourself, tell us why you would like to help and share your availability. Our team can then discuss opportunities with you.
Will there be security and staff to support dancers’ safety?
Yes. Security and Afro Jam Dance Camp staff will be available to help keep the event safe and support our dancers. If anything happens that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe or unwelcome, please reach out to a staff member. You do not need to handle concerns alone—our team is there to listen and help.
Who can help me before I book?
Email afrojamdancecamp@hotmail.com with questions about classes, passes, registration or planning your visit. Tell us what you would like to know so our team can guide you. We want you to feel comfortable, informed and prepared before joining Afro Jam Dance Camp.
